Behavioral Health Services UPMC McKeesport provides inpatient behavioral health services for adult and geriatric patients. This 24 bed unit, modeled after and managed by Western Psychiatric Institute and Clinic, provides individual, group and family treatment modalities along with psychopharmacological interventions. The multidisciplinary team, comprised of physicians, nurses, social workers and mental health specialists provide the patient focused care needed to rapidly stabilize the patient in preparation for discharge. A continuum
of care has been recently formalized between the behavioral health
inpatient unit at McKeesport and the ambulatory services provided
through Mon Yough Community Services Inc. This relationship between
the two facilities has greatly enhanced continuity of care for the
patients served at both sites.
